日本國民大作家夏目漱石精通俳句、英文、漢詩和書法，幾乎是神一樣的存在。《羅生門》作者芥川龍之介是他的忠實粉絲，魯迅的文風也深受他的影響。然而，他妻子的回憶錄《我的先生夏目漱石》卻將他打下神壇，書裏寫他臭美、神經衰弱、有暴力傾向、多次動手打家人。
Natsume Sōseki, widely considered as the greatest Japanese writer, was good at haiku, English, Chinese poems and calligraphy. Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, the author of Rashomon, was a big fan of him. Lu Xun’s writing was also deeply influenced by him. However, the memoirs of his wife ‘My Husband Natsume Sōseki’ depicts a different side of the literary master. According to the book, he admired himself, had bad nerves, tended to get violent and beat his family.
